LIGHT PAINTING- -post-assignment

I absolutely loved this assignment, it was so much fun!

We tried to do many different forms and things and the result looks awesome! It was very creative and original.

SILHOUETTES - post-assignment

Finally done with it! It wasn't as easy as I thought, it was much more difficult! It took me a long time to complete this assignment, because I never had a good chance to take pictures. Sometimes the sun wasn't out and the sky wasn't clear and blue or other times I just didn't have any model to pose for me.

What happened to me tones of times was that you take a picture and then because it's so bright out you think that the photo is dark and good, but then when you get inside and you upload them to your computer you see that they are actually not dark at all, and it's so stressful because you have to go out again to take them.

I wish I could had taken any photo during the sunset or sunrise, they would've been very cool and amazing, but these are my final photographs, they are pretty cool too!

When Ms. Underwood told us to go to the studio and take pictures painting with light, I thought that it was just to have fun and try to be creative, but then I found out that it's actually an assignment and I was so happy!

THIS ASSIGNMENT LOOKS SO MUCH FUN, I am so excited to try it!

SILHOUETTES - pre-assignment

There has been a long time since our last assignment! We have been working on the Big Project so we haven't had time to work on another project.

Our assignment for this week is called "Silhouette Photography", and as the name says, we have to take pictures of silhouettes. That means that we have to face the sun with the camera, put an object or a person in front of us, and shoot!

This assignment looks fun, but we have to have in mind the weather. If there is no sun, there are not silhouettes! It's supposed to be nice out because we are in June, but you never know...

We have to play with our camera until we get the correct settings and the picture comes out great, not very bright but not very dark.

The BIG PROJECT is our next assignment! This project is a little bit different than the Photo 1 one. Since we are in Photo 2 Color, our pictures should be full of colors! This time you chose whatever theme you want, whatever you want to take pictures of. The idea is not to take exactly the same pictures as a famous photographer that you chose, but you can have an artist that you like in mind when taking the photographs.

I got a fisheye lens a couple months ago and I decided that that was my theme: Fisheye lens photography. Last weekend I went for a walk in the evening and I brought my camera with me. I started taking pictures with this lens and they came out very cool, so I decided that it would be a good idea to do my project about this. I also like it because it's different than what we have done during the year and it's fun to be different sometimes.

These are my pictures of the last 2 weeks, I really really like them!!

BEST 5 IMAGES!

Our last assignment of this third quarter was to chose our best 5 color images. Since we are in photo 2, we have to work in color instead of in black and white like the last semester. I personally like color photography better than black and white one, so I'm happy!

The pictures that I've chosen are pictures that I took during this year in the U.S. I really like them, they are very colorful and cheerful and that is what I always want my images to look like.

BLENDED IMAGES - POST ASSIGMENT

We didn't have much time to complete this assignment. I have pretty stressed because I had to do two pictures in 5 days + get my blog going and there were moments where I thought that I couldn't make it. But I did!

Although it was quick, I liked the assignment because I was always looking forward my result so that made it interesting. It also gave me the opportunity to investigate and learn things in Photoshop.

I really like my pictures, specially the color one.

COLOR MANIPULATIONS - POST-ASSIGNMENT

This assignment was very cool, I liked it. It was fun how we took pictures of natural flowers and then played with the different colors to give the image a colorful and artistic touch.

BLENDED IMAGES- PRE-ASSIGNMENT

Our assingment this week is to make blended images. We have two photographers as an example to make this. They are Maggie Taylor and Jerry Uelsmann.
The purpose is to make a image using 3 or more images. We chose 3 images tat we like and blend them together to make a good photograph.

We have to do 2 images in one week. One of them is in color, like Maggie Taylor's images. The other one is in black and white wit an example of Jerry Uelsmann's work.

ANDY WARHOL POST-ASSIGNMENT

We are done with this assignment. This is my final picture.

I liked this assignment because it was fun, you had to play with different colors and paint to face and your eyes and your clothes and everything.

It was actually a little bit hard in a way, because you had to follow the video step by step to don't make any mistake, and that doesn't give you any freedom to edit your picture. Also, if you made any mistake, you had to start over again.

But I enjoyed doing this assignment  and I think we all have fun painting our faces of pink, yellow and lots of other different colors!!

ANDY WARHOL PRE-ASSIGNMENT

This week we have been assigned to take and edit pictures in a special way in order to get a very creative and colorful photo like Andy Warhol ones!

Somebody is taking a picture of us and then we are in charge to edit and add bright colors to our own photographs.

We are also watching a tutorial video to learn how to edit them and don't make any mistakes.

I am pretty excited for this assignment, I think is going to be one of the enjoyable ones!

Classical music album cover

During a week, we had to complete an assignment. the assignment was about combining music with photography. 

We had to make an album cover for classical music.

First of all, we had to understand and be able to identify all different photography terms and compositions, like: basic compositional structures, directional emphasis, design principles and visual elements of art. we had to have more or less and idea of all these things in order to do the assignment right.

Second, we had to draw our ideas on paper. We had to think and imagine how our album cover would look like and try to make different sketches.

And third, using our photography skills and what we learned, the had to take pictures and complete the assignment. 

This one right here is the picture that I chose for as my album cover. I took it in winter during a snow storm and I think that it can be related to classical music. The picture is very pleasant and transmits relaxation, just the same way as this type of music.

COLOR MANIPULATIONS- PRE-ASSIGNME

Our second assignment is called color manipulation. Our example for this is the famous Andy Warhol photographer. Andy Warhol was an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art.

He'd take a picture and make kind of a collage with that image replicated and he'd manipulate the colors in 4 or more different ways.

This is one of his most famous image.

Our assignment is to do the same as Andy Warhol did. Instead of using people, we are using different types of flowers. Then, we have to play with the different colors and end up with an artistic and colorful photograph.

Color Harmonies

Our first assignment of photo 2 was to understand the color harmonies, identify them in objects or places at school and take pictures of them.
There are 4 types of color harmonies.




ANALOGOUS COLORS:

Colors that are very close to each other.

COMPLEMENTARY COLORS:

Pairs of colors which. when combined in the right proportions, produce white or black.

Red-green, yellow-violet and blue-orange.

MONOCHROMATIC COLORS:

Monochromatic colors are all the colors (tints, tones, and shades) of a single hue.

The same color but lighter or darker.

GREY SCALE:

Images that contain only black, grey and white.
